We’re Upbeat About Up-to-Date Technology!

At Hernández Dental Care, we’re proud to expand our education to provide thorough, personalized, and compassionate care to our Louisville friends and neighbors. Advanced tools and techniques help us spot early warning signs, which can help you avoid the need for extensive dental procedures, but we’ve got you covered if your smile needs more TLC, too. With emerging technologies comes more to learn, and we’re happy to implement the latest and greatest to make your diagnosis and treatment planning precise, your appointments comfortable from start to finish, and your results healthy and beautiful.

Digital X-Ray Imaging

Digital X-Rays

Though it was introduced in 1987, we’re still celebrating the development of digital radiography. Not only do digital x-rays reduce exposure to radiation for both you and our team, but their clear images help us detect disease and decay in earlier stages. The fact that they can be taken quickly from the comfort of the dental chair and put on display for both you and Dr. Hernández to see is another bonus.

Intraoral Cameras

The intraoral camera is exactly what it sounds like—a camera that takes photos of your mouth. However, these gadgets are on wands about the size of a pen so that you’re not having to open wide like an alligator for us to get detailed images of each tooth and surface of your mouth. The images we capture can also be magnified for easier sight of abnormalities or areas that need more attention.

Laser Cavity Detection

Lasers are incredibly versatile tools in the world of dentistry. Some lasers can be used to deep clean teeth, painlessly kill bad bacteria, remove diseased gum tissue, assist in crown lengthening procedures, and the list goes on from there! They can also help us illuminate areas of decay on or between teeth that aren’t yet obvious to our eyes and x-ray images alone.

KaVo OP 3D™ Cone Beam 3D Imaging

KaVo OP 3D™ Cone Beam 3D Imaging

We use what’s frequently called a CBCT (Cone Beam Computed Tomography) Scanner to quickly and conveniently obtain high-resolution images of your teeth, soft tissues, nerve pathways, and bone in a single scan. These incredibly sharp images can then be converted into a 3D model, which helps us create precise restorative and orthodontic treatment plans.
